Antimicrobial Coatings

It is with great pleasure that PLAS-TECH COATINGS, INC. introduces the availability of SILVER SHIELD™ antimicrobial fluoropolymer coatings.

If your products are used in an area where bacterial growth is an issue, we know that these coatings will provide your products with a distinct advantage over your competitors.

How many of your products have hard to reach (or impossible to reach) areas that can harbor bacteria? Wouldn't you like to be able to provide your customers with an extra level of confidence by providing an antimicrobial surface? Although antimicrobial protection has been available for a number of years on plastic surfaces, it is only now that a coating system has been developed for metal surface.

It is widely recognized that bacteria can live on surfaces that appear to be visually clean. Inside corners, bolted joints, and surface irregularities are just some examples of areas that are difficult to clean. For example, the joint between a knife blade and holder is a magnet for dirt and bacteria. Control measures that are currently part of a facility HACCP plan or sanitation procedure can be enhanced by the SILVER SHIELD™ coating. SILVER SHIELD™ coatings are cleaner and more bio-film resistant. These coatings reduce the likelihood of problematic bacteria surviving or prospering in the plant environment.

PLAS-TECH is the premier industrial fluoropolymer applicator. We apply fluoropolymer coatings exclusively, so no one knows them better than we do! Some of the coatings we apply are: Teflon®, Xylan®, Excalibur®, Quantum®, Ultralon®, Hyflon®, and Halar®, just to name a few.

If you need an easy to clean surface, chemical inertness, corrosion protection, high use temperature (up to 500°F), or lubricity coupled with antimicrobial properties, please read the enclosed newsletter, and give us a call.
